Paddy Maguire's Holiday Toy Drive

Paddy Maguire's Ale House Annual Holiday Toy Drive took place Sunday, December 16th at Paddy Maguire's at 237 Third Avenue (at 20th Street).

The Toy Drive benefitted the 133 children (ages 2-5) at the Escuela Hispana Montessori at 180 Suffolk Street. Many of the children come from the Lower East Side housing projects or city shelters, and have been displaced by Hurricane Sandy flooding from Escuela Hispana's other location at 185 Avenue D.

This year, Paddy Maguire invited GPBA neighbors to participate in the toy drive. "Paddy Maguire is a wonderful friend to our community, and we just can't thank him enough for helping these children who are victims of Hurricane Sandy," said GPBA President Arlene Harrison. "We just could not have a better neighbor than Paddy Maguire."

"In light of Hurricane Sandy, the holidays this year mean that people are thinking even more of families in need. Paddy Maguire has been a great help to so many for many years," said GPBA Board Member Rev. Tom Pike, "Now in these tough economic times, Paddy Maguire's Ale House could now use our support."

As long as we continue receiving financial support for our Hurricane Sandy Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund, we will continue to be there in the coming months for our neighbors in need.
