The Gramercy Park Block Association once again thanked Fresh Direct for their shipment of over a hundred bouquets of flowers to the Gramercy Park community.
"The word has spread throughout the area about Fresh Direct's generosity, and we are letting everyone know what a terrific friend they have become to us," said Harrison, president of the GPBA.
The Block Association included in their outreach the Parish of Calvary-St. George's, which includes two schools, a soup kitchen, and a food pantry, and The Church of the Epiphany, which has a "Homeless Dinner Program" and a school. Flowers were also given to neighborhood building workers, NYPD 13th Precinct Police Officers, Emergency Service Unit Truck #1 Detectives, Manhattan South Homicide Detectives and staff.
One particularly grateful recipient was a detective whose home the GPBA helped rebuild after it and his vehicle were lost to Hurricane Sandy.
Flowers were also placed in the 13th Precinct World Trade Center Memorial Garden, which honors officers who lost their lives on 9/11. The garden, which is in front of the precinct, is maintained year-round by the Block Association.
